Amex Centurion in 2026 — what's changed, what hasn't

The invitation-only Centurion® Card still offers the broadest lounge access of any card on the market. The Global Lounge Collection now spans 1,550+ lounges across 140 countries: the proprietary Centurion Network, full Priority Pass Select, Delta Sky Club (when flying Delta), Plaza Premium, and access to PS (formerly Private Suite) at LAX, ATL, and DFW at exclusive Centurion rates. New for 2026: small-format "Sidecar" Centurion locations are rolling out at additional hubs.

Guest rules — Centurion remains the gold standard

While Amex Platinum's complimentary guest count was cut from two to one in 2026, Centurion still allows up to 2 complimentary guests in Centurion Lounges and typically 2 in Priority Pass lounges. The catch: from July 8, 2026, all guests must be traveling on the same flight as the cardholder. Lounges are running close to capacity, so agents now strictly check boarding passes against the host's flight at the desk.

🚨 Lufthansa Group access ends September 30, 2026

After that date, even Centurion cardholders lose access to Lufthansa Senator, Business, Eurowings, and Discover lounges (except when flying in a qualifying premium cabin, or holding Star Alliance Gold/HON status independently). Travelers in Europe — particularly through FRA, MUC, and ZRH — should plan around this. Lounge Surf can match Centurion holders with a Star Alliance Gold member to keep access to those specific lounges through alliance rules.

How Centurion members use Lounge Surf

If your card permits a guest at the relevant lounge, Lounge Surf can help you coordinate with another traveler. American Express may require a guest to be travelling on the same flight as the card member; confirm the current terms and the specific lounge’s conditions before arranging to meet.

How can I share my Amex Centurion guest slot with Lounge Surf?

If your Amex Centurion entitles you to bring a guest, you can share that slot through Lounge Surf with another traveler. Post your flight, get matched, then chat in-app to decide whether to meet — Lounge Surf only facilitates the introduction. If you both want to meet up, you do so at the lounge entrance. Both of you win — you use your free guest slot, your match gets into a lounge they'd otherwise miss.
