Guest rules
Many premium cards still offer guest privileges, but several major issuers have recently moved to a pay-per-guest model or added same-flight requirements. The exact policy depends on whether you're entering a Priority Pass lounge, an Amex Centurion lounge, an airline alliance lounge, or a Plaza Premium / Plaza-network lounge — and whether your match is on the same flight. Lounge Surf checks the current policy automatically when matching you with another traveler.
Amex Business Platinum in 2026 — networks, guest rules, what's changing
Business Platinum sits inside the same Amex Global Lounge Collection as the personal Platinum and follows the same 2026 rules. It opens 1,550+ lounges across 700+ airports through overlapping programs.
Where Business Platinum opens doors in 2026
- The Centurion Network: 30+ proprietary lounges, including the new "Sidecar" small-format locations.
- Priority Pass Select: 1,400+ independent lounges (enrollment required).
- Lufthansa Group (🚨 ending September 30, 2026): Lufthansa Business, Senator, plus Eurowings and Discover Airlines lounges — until that date.
- Delta Sky Club: only when flying Delta, capped at 10 visits per year unless the cardholder hits US$75k+ in annual spend.
- Plaza Premium & Escape Lounges: full access in both networks.
Guest rules — same tightening as personal Platinum (effective July 8, 2026)
- Centurion Lounges: guests must be on the same flight as the cardholder. Boarding-pass checks are strict.
- Guest count: capped at 1 complimentary guest (down from 2). Additional guests cost about US$50, unless the cardholder hits US$75k+ annual spend.
- Layover cap: Centurion entry is limited to 5 hours before the connecting flight.
- Priority Pass: still 1 free guest via the Amex-issued membership.
🚨 Lufthansa Group access ends September 30, 2026
After that date, Business Platinum no longer opens Lufthansa Business, Senator, Eurowings, or Discover Airlines lounges. For travelers in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria — particularly through FRA, MUC, and ZRH — the fallback is a Priority Pass alternative at the same airport, or matching via Lounge Surf with a Star Alliance Gold member who can host you under alliance rules.
How Lounge Surf helps Business Platinum holders
Now that Centurion access requires guest and host on the same flight, Lounge Surf's matching is more useful than ever — the algorithm filters travelers on your specific flight or alliance, so the lounge agent at the desk accepts the guest. The match never violates the new policy because the policy is the input to the match.
Frequently asked
Which lounges does the Amex Business Platinum open worldwide?
The Amex Business Platinum (American Express) gives access to 298 lounges across 179 airports worldwide. The exact locations and networks (Priority Pass, Centurion, Plaza Premium, alliance lounges) are listed in the table above.
Can I bring a guest into the lounge with my Amex Business Platinum?
Most premium cards include at least one guest per visit. The exact rule depends on whether you're entering a Priority Pass, Centurion, alliance, or Plaza Premium lounge. Lounge Surf checks the rule automatically — if your card has a free guest slot, it gets used when matching.
How can I share my Amex Business Platinum guest slot with Lounge Surf?
If your Amex Business Platinum entitles you to bring a guest, you can share that slot through Lounge Surf with another traveler. Post your flight, get matched, then chat in-app to decide whether to meet — Lounge Surf only facilitates the introduction. If you both want to meet up, you do so at the lounge entrance. Both of you win — you use your free guest slot, your match gets into a lounge they'd otherwise miss.
Find another traveler at your next airport
If you have a guest slot going to waste — or you don't have lounge access and want a host — Lounge Surf matches travelers on the same flight day at the same airport. Free to join. Members who complete the optional ID-or-passport verification (unlocked by the Surfer Pass and run through a secure third-party check — we never sell or share your data) earn a trust badge and tend to get picked faster.
